Mindfulness Jewelry

I love jewelry!  I love the way it looks and how it feels! This is what gave me the inspiration to create Mindfulness Jewelry. Mindfulness is many things to many people. What it means to me is “a way to be aware of one’s self and their environment in order to slow down and take in what is in and around them in a non-judgment way.”

This all started back in 2013.  My initial difficulty was trying to keep up in a very hectic lifestyle that I was leading at that time. Life seemed to be going at a crazy, fast rate and I couldn’t keep up! I knew in my heart I needed to slow down and make some changes. It was not until I experienced some painful and personal challenges that I knew I needed to make a major change in my life.

The first thing I did was to pick up what was left of my life and brush off the negativity. I put on my big girl panties and started doing some research. I became a health coach and started to live better, eat better, and be more active. However with any major life change, the change didn’t last. I searched for other things and strategies to help me become more focused on maintaining this new lifestyle. After taking a course on mindfulness, I started to incorporate the ideas and strategies. I knew I was going in the right direction but there was still something missing. A friend of mine had told me about this cross she had placed on her rearview mirror. She said that every time she went somewhere and needed to “be mindful” she said a little prayer and held that cross in her hand. That gave me the idea of creating a visual and physical reminder of “being mindful”.

I created my first piece and have attached it here. Whenever I look at it, it gives me the visual reminder to be mindful, to take deep breaths, to let things go when they need to go, and the strength to continue on.

I hope you enjoy my jewelry and find that it helps you on your life’s journey.
